webview back button android

Hi, i cannot seem to get the back button to work in my app, for the back code i get a red underline under the mwebview which on hover says it cannot be. I call webview.clearhistory(), but i am still able to go back after doing so. i want to reuse a webview, but i don't want the back button to allow the user to go back. Does anyone know how to create a back button for my webview. i want to be able to go back a page or two as the user is surfing..
